製造過程分為以下幾個步驟 :
- 液態的光學高分子(photo-polymer)被填入大型容器(vat)中
- 能量光束(紫外線或雷射)聚焦後被導入最上層的液面
- 液態的光學高分子吸收能量後,產生化學反應形成交連(crosslinking),然後固化成形
- 等凝固完畢後,升降載台(platform)下降一個層厚,繼續重複一開始的步驟。
- 重複上述步驟直到成品完成,即可停止。
